Dr. Augosto Villalon is among the Philippines' most distinguished architects and a noted specialist in the field of architectural conservation and cultural heritage management. An advisor to the World Monuments Fund and the Global Heritage Fund in the U.S.. and founding member of numerous organizations such as the Philippine branch of the International Council for Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Dr. Villalon has been recognized with a range of important honors including Chevalier de l'Ordre des Artes et des Lettres (2012) and a lifetime achievement award (2003) for contributions in Philipipnes Arts and Culture from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

ACC supported the travel to India to consult on a living cultural heritage museum on Majuli Island in Assam State, India. Dr. Villalon was invited by longtime ACC advisor S.K. Misra, Chairman of the Indian Trust for Rural Heritage and Development (ITRHD), to assist in the planning of a rural museum on Majuli Island in India.
