Susan Bopp
United StatesSusan Bopp received a six-week fellowship from the ACC to conduct research in Japan on architectural practice and historic preservation in summer 2011. A graduate student studying architecture and historic preservation at Columbia University, Ms. Bopp is interested in how cultural and contemporary building practices merge, and often collide, with historic structures. Her grant from the ACC enabled her to participate in a program through the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and to conduct solo fieldwork in Yokohama, where there is an increasing trend of adaptive reuse of historic architecture.
