The Asian Cultural Council is a foundation supporting cultural exchange in the visual and performing arts between the United States and the countries of Asia, primarily through a program of individual fellowship awards. The ACC's grant program was established in 1963 by John D. Rockefeller 3rd, and over a period of more than 44 years the program has provided grant assistance to nearly 4,000 Asians and Americans in the arts. Today, funding for the Council's programs is derived from a combination of endowment income and annual contributions from individuals, foundations, and corporations in Asia and in the United States
