Tsung-Lung Cheng

Taiwan

Mr. Cheng was a member of Henry Yu Dance Group and Taipei City Ballet before being invited by Taipei National University of the Arts, Horse, and Zuo-Zu-Ting Dance Group to work as a choreographer. In 2002, Mr. Cheng joined Cloud Gate to participate in several international tours, and then he became the resident guest choreographer for Gloud Gate 2. Subsequently, his pieces were shown in Brisbane, New York, London, Ludwigshafen, and Taipei.  Mr. Cheng was appointed assistant artistic director for Cloud Gate 2.

The much-anticipated Singapore debut of Cloud Gate 2, featuring many of Taiwan’s most talented young dancers and two award-winning choreographers.

Reputed for their potent technique and polished skill, the sister company of the internationally celebrated Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan, presents three riveting dance works by innovative Taiwanese choreographers Cheng Tsung-lung and Huang Yi.

13 Tongues

This is Cloud Gate's 22nd Annual Free Outdoor Performances with CHENG Tsung-lung's 13 Tongues performed by Cloud Gate 2.

Thirteen Tongues, a legendary figure in the 1960s from Bangka - the oldest district and once the most prosperous area in Taipei - was the nickname for the street artist lauded for his remarkable acts portraying multiple roles, imitating characters of male, female, old and young, telling stories and anecdotes of the past and present.
