For this exhibition, yang02 (ACC 2023), who received an ACC (Asian Cultural Council) grant last year to conduct research in New York and other locations in the U.S. for six months, will create new works based on his experiences. The title of the exhibition is derived from “Homage to New York,” a large-scale kinetic performance piece presented by kinetic art pioneer Jean Tinguely in MoMA's garden in 1960. The work was to gradually collapse and eventually burst into flames as it was staged.

In this exhibition, a large collage of materials collected during his fellowship in New York. will be displayed on a 7-meter wall, visually reconstructing the New York experience through methods related to the artist's residency experience.

In addition, a new work from the “Slow Mini 4WD” series will run slowly on a special 15-meter-long course surrounding the exhibition site.

In addition, there will be a sound installation using a boom box, scrap wood, and audio recorded on site; a video interview with Julie Martin, a member of “E.A.T. (Experiments in Art and Technology)”; and the latest work in the “Image for Degrowth” series, which is a representative work of yang02. The exhibition will feature more than 10 new works.
