■ Message upon Appointment
At a time when international divisions are deepening and social disparities are widening domestically, I believe that the arts play a vital role in prompting societal questions, fostering dialogue, and cultivating mutual understanding and trust.
Keeping firmly in mind the founding belief that “The fostering of cultural relations can be a form of insurance for the future of this dangerous, but exciting world,” I will dedicate myself to contributing to the Foundation’s mission.
