Jennifer Wen MA (ACC 2006, 2013, 2015) been awarded a patent for the innovative design of my collapsible papercut sculptures! Her technique binds many layers of uniquely-cut paper into a honeycomb accordion structure that expands and contracts as needed. I developed this method over a decade ago for my installation opera "Paradise Interrupted," where I created an immersive, modular interactive garden that could transform on stage. This signature technique has continued to evolve into a living, breathing system that has traveled across many projects around the world. In addition to the creative and conceptual aspects, the design provides a practical, economical, and environmental re-use format for installations.
