Ambie Abaño “implores people to take a pause” in her latest exhibition “...Still-ness…” featuring woodblock prints that evoke calmness and a meditative introspection.

Sabrina Jeon in her exhibition notes writes, "... Still-ness..." is a continuation of the artist's introspective journey which she embarked upon years ago. Through these works, she explores her present moment, relying on the visual form to depict her current experience and where she is in this grand adventure.

The artists’ creative process is further observed, “given her penchant for the mercurial nature of self-reflection, it should come as no surprise that Abaño enjoys the unpredictability of printmaking. As in the act of letting go and giving oneself to the stillness of each point in time, the practice of printmaking is much the same. The nature of the medium requires one to take risks, trust the process, and accept that no printmaker truly has full control of their output.”

“...Still-ness…” may be viewed on site at the Altro Mondo Creative Space. The gallery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10:00am to 5:00pm. For inquiries contact @altromondoart on Facebook or Instagram.
