Join Taiwanese interdisciplinary artist Chiaochi Chou and american ecologist Maria Uriarte, Professor at Columbia Universitty, for a conversation on their collaboration transforming the invbisible ecological processes within forests into artistic forms that can be perceived and understood.
This Taiwan—U.S. collaboration began when Chou was selected as an Asian Cultural Council 2023 Asia Grant Cycle awardee and came to New York. Moving between the forests of Puerto Rico and the urban life of New York City, Uriarte and Chou developed a shared practice that resulted in an interactive moving-image work that traces sixty years of research in El Yunque Forest.
