Brain Storm (2009) rendered a new artistic language of time-based landscape painting. Working with ink wash allowed chance and fluidity to shape the imagery, delivering visual fields that shift between quiet and atmospheric, and turbulent and moody. Drawing on the tradition of Chinese landscape painting, the protagonists—a simply drawn man and horse—continually walk through a sumptuous and shifting black and white ink landscape that serves as an abstract reflection of the storms of the mind.
