After premiering in Frankfurt in 2025 and returning to Europe this June 2026, Brown Madonna comes home for its Philippine premiere.

Created and performed by Ea Torrado, Brown Madonna is a full-length dance theatre work developed over seven years. Part ritual, part spectacle, it moves through Filipina identity, motherhood, labor, class memory, Catholic iconography, and queer sensuality.

At its center is the Brown Madonna: a shifting figure moving between saint, diva, mother, laborer, and fiesta queen.

Presented as part of Daloy Dance Company’s 12th anniversary season, this homecoming premiere marks a major milestone for the work and for the company. The evening will also feature new works by the fresh choreographic voices of Jan Lloyd Celecio, Pat Valerio, Kaye Salcedo and Iya Desamero.
