A concert featuring innovative komungo (Korean stringed instrument) virtuoso and Assistant Professor of the Practice in Music Jin Hi Kim performing on the world’s only electric komungo.

This concert celebrates the acquisition of Kim’s archives–including the nine CD box set “The Jin Hi Kim Collection: Living Tones Compositions and Komungo Improvisations,” and her memoir, “Duality of Ancient Korean Roots and Western New Music”–by Wesleyan’s Music Library and World Music Archives.

Kim’s works will also be performed by Pheeroan Aklaff (percussion), Nadya Potemkina (viola), Alex Waterman (cello), and Abiodun Adisa MA ’26 (West African bàtá drum).
