Owen Lam is a Hong Kong–based architect working across the fields of architecture and interior design. During his fellowship in Japan, he will conduct a one-month research trip to various locations, including Takamatsu, Osaka, Wajima, and Tokyo, focusing on residential spaces, living environments, and community building for the elderly, with the aim of exploring well-being that goes beyond mere survival. He seeks to learn from Japan’s innovative initiatives addressing the challenges of a super-aged society and gain insights into how seniors can lead happy and fulfilling lives.
