2022 Mainland China/Hong Kong/Macau Exchange Program

ACC's 2022 Mainland China/Hong Kong/Macau Exchange Program will open for applications from November 1 - December 1, 2021 (HKT). The following application guidelines apply to applicants residing in mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR.

Funding Period: June 1, 2022-December 31, 2023
Who: Individuals and Non-Profit Arts Organizations in Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, and Macau SAR

The following fellowship and grant programs will be funded through the ACC Mainland China/Hong Kong/Macau Exchange Program: 

New York Fellowship

A six-month fellowship program in New York City, with comprehensive logistical and programmatic support from ACC staff. Fellowships may involve targeted research projects, open-ended exploration or cultural immersion.

Individual Fellowship

One- to six-month fellowships for individuals, or up to two collaborators, undertaking self-directed research. Partial funding may be requested for longer dissertation research trips. Programmatic support from ACC staff is available as needed.

Graduate Scholarship

A living stipend for students from Asia pursuing graduate degrees in the U.S., with priority given to students who do not have access to comparable programs at home, and to those studying in fields that are underrepresented in their home country.

Organization Grant

Funding for organizations to facilitate cultural exchange opportunities for individual project participants, or for collaborative projects involving three or more individuals. All applicants must be registered non-profit organization. The duration and scope of projects may range.

Important Dates

For applicants from mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR, the next application cycle is as below:

November 1, 2021   Application opens 
December 1, 2021 (HKT) Deadline to submit an application 
December 1, 2021  Deadline for recommenders to submit letters of recommendation 
April 1, 2022  Deadline for Graduate Scholarship applicants to confirm acceptance to an academic program
June 2022  Award decisions finalized and applicants notified of results
June 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023  Funding period (fellowship/grant travel must begin in this period)
